Here are our pictures from our trip to Mystic Seaport in Connecticut and from there we went on to The Cape in Massachusetts.

Mystic Seaport is the largest and most comprehensive maritime museum in North America.

Elizabeth and Jan sitting on one of the cannons

Elizabeth "doing something cute" as instructed by Jan.  That's the size anchor I'm going to need for my first boat.

An example of a row boat carried on the larger boats used in shallow water where the large sailing vessels couldn't go .

Lighthouse at the seaport

Couple of whaling boats

The aft of one of the boats.  The carvings in the wood were extremely detailed.

From Connecticut we went out to The Cape for a few days.

Pilgrim's Memorial in Provincetown.  On a clear day, visitors can catch a glimpse of the Boston skyline from the top of this 252-foot memorial to the Pilgrims. They landed here in 1620 before sailing onto Plymouth. The Italian-designed Monument is the tallest all-granite edifice in the nation, modeled after the Torre del Magnia tower in Siena, Italy. Located on High Pole Hill.  P.S.: No, the monument doesn't actually lean, it's just the picture.

Elizabeth and the many many many ramps and stairs that we took to reach the top of the memorial.

One of the locals we ran into.

Arriving at Martha's Vineyard.  One of the many lighthouses there.

The ferry we took from Falmouth landed us at this harbor in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard.
